Research at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital
The CF team here are involved in a variety of research projects.
We feel offering research is a sign of good clinical care as it allows patients access to new treatments, and also advances CF knowledge. Whilst you may be asked to take part in research studies, the choice is yours whether you would like to take part or not.
Research Nurses
Those patients who choose to volunteer for research will meet our two research nurses who work with the CF team, Sharon and Marie (pictured).
They will organise study visits and carry out most of the research tests themselves.
Research appointments are in the Hawthorn Suite. We do try and time these alongside your normal clinic visits, where possible, to minimise the time you need to spend at hospital.
