Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is situated on Thomas Drive, in the Broadgreen area of Liverpool, a two-minute drive from the M62, and approximately 4 miles from the city centre. The hospital site is easily accessible by public transport.

- The main entrance for Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is on West Road, which is most easily accessed from Thomas Drive. If you’re travelling by car, please use the sat-nav postcode L14 3PE and follow the on-site signage.
- If you’re travelling westbound towards Liverpool, exit at junction 5 of the M62.
- When travelling through either of the Mersey Tunnels from Wirral/North Wales, follow signs towards the M62.
Car Parking
- The hospital has a multi-storey car park for patients, visitors and staff which is open 24/7.
- Cars should enter the hospital site from Thomas Drive and use the multi-storey car park on the right-hand side.
- The multi-storey car park has a barrier operated entrance and exit. Please note that for hospital staff only, automatic number plate recognition is in operation, and therefore the barriers will raise/lower on approach for owners of these vehicles.
- A pay station and parking office are located on the ground floor.
Charges and payment
- A pay station is located on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park, and you will be able to pay by cash or debit/credit card.

- Up to 24 hours - £9.00
- Lost ticket charge - £9.00
- If you have any queries about payment, please do not hesitate to contact the Saba Parking office in the multi-storey car park on the ground floor and the staff will be happy to help.
Blue Badge Parking
- Designated blue badge parking spaces are provided around the hospital site.
- There are a small number of free blue badge bays close to the shared main entrance at the top of Walsh Road. In the event that car parks for blue badge holders are full, it is recommended that drivers park in the multi-storey car park and use the courtesy bus service.
Onsite courtesy bus
- A free Courtesy Bus is available from outside the multi-storey car park and runs to several stops across the site, including the shared main entrance / Outpatient Department entrance and the LHCH Main Entrance for all inpatient wards.
- The courtesy bus is fitted with access and safety equipment, which includes a chair lift, seat belts and radio link to base.
- We do advise that if you have any difficulty with mobility that you use the bus to take you to your destination across the hospital site.
Drop-off and Taxis
- There is a drop-off section outside the large glass-fronted shared main entrance on Walsh Road, which can be used for pick-up and drop-off only.
- Taxis can also be taken from here.
Public transport - Train
- Broad Green train station is approximately 0.5 miles away (10minute walk) and connects with Liverpool Lime Street, Wigan and Manchester. We recommend using Merseyside Journey Planner to find the best route for you.
Public transport - Bus
- The closest bus stops to the hospital are situated on Thomas Drive and Queens Drive.
