Why Become a Member?

LHCH has over 8,500 public members who all make a difference as we work to achieve our vision to be ‘the best’.  As a Foundation Trust we are accountable to our patients, members and the communities we serve. Our Council of Governors represent the views of our members and the public, whilst holding our Board of Directors to account.

Why become a member?

Our members can be involved as little or as much as they like.  For example:

  • Keep informed on LHCH latest news and developments and receive regular copies of LHCH Matters newsletter
  • Be eligible to stand for election as a Governor or vote in elections for the Council of Governors
  • Have your say on what most matters to you by participating in focus groups or members surveys
  • Be invited to attend our programme of membership events – including our health awareness events and the Annual Members' Meeting
  • Engage with our Governors enabling them to represent your views.

Can anyone become a Member?

  • Members must be over 16 years of age, although there is no upper age limit.
  • Members must come from one of the following catchment areas: Cheshire, North Wales, Merseyside and the Rest of England & Wales.
  • Members just need to have an interest in what the hospital does now and in the future.
