There are many reasons why you might have been invited to an appointment with us, including attending an outpatient clinic, having a diagnostic test, coming in for surgery or another type of procedure.

When attending Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, please bring your appointment letter with you and any other information or items outlined in your letter.

Outpatient Appointment

Within our Outpatient Department, people are seen according to their appointment time and not according to the time they arrive at the hospital. Please aim to arrive in plenty of time for your appointment.

When you arrive, there are check-in kiosks immediately outside the Outpatient Department, where you will be asked to confirm your details on screen and advised what you should do next.

Alternatively, if you have any questions and would like to speak with a member of staff, there is also a reception desk within the department and they will be happy to help.

Cancelling and appointment questions

If you’re not able to attend your appointment, it is important you contact us to let us know as soon as possible. Please use the number on your appointment letter, or if you don’t have this, please call 0151 600 1616. Please note that appointments cancelled on the day will be referred back to your clinician who will make a decision on whether your appointment should be rebooked.

Where a patient does not attend (DNA) their hospital appointment and did not tell us beforehand, the appointment goes unused. Unfortunately Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital has approximately 10% of appointment slots unused. Please help us to help others, and if you let us know in advance, we will be able to offer the appointment to another patient who needs it.

If you have any other questions about your appointment, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
