Education and Training
The Pharmacy Education Department at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital is committed to improving patient care by advancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals. We provide comprehensive training, educational programmes, and hands-on learning opportunities for hospital staff and undergraduate students.
Our department works closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure safe and effective prescribing and medication use. Whether it’s educating staff on the latest advancements in medication therapy, guiding pharmacy students in clinical practice, or offering resources for patients to better understand their medications, our department plays a vital role in providing educational healthcare excellence.
Within the pharmacy department we offer multiple training programmes to enhance the knowledge and skills of our staff. For Pharmacists this includes structured clinical rotations for our early-careers pharmacists and enrolment onto further education courses such as Clinical Diplomas, Leadership courses and Advanced Practice modules in clinical specialities.
For Technicians and Dispensing staff, we offer the opportunity to complete the L2-L3 qualifications and undertake an in-house progression training package. This package includes formal study and on-the-job training.
So, whether you're a pharmacy student looking for experiential learning, a technician seeking advanced training, or a pharmacist aiming to expand your clinical expertise, our department offers the education and support you need to succeed.
