LHCH Respiratory Diagnostics to host first Spirometry Training Course
Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital’s Respiratory Diagnostics team are pleased to open bookings for their first Spirometry Training Course. The virtual training course will run over two days on 22nd and 23rd April and hosted via Microsoft Teams. Day one of the course will focus on Performing Spirometry and day two will consider the Interpretation of Spirometry.
Why choose this course?
The course will be overseen by Dorothy Price, Respiratory Diagnostics Manager and Jennifer Furlong, Advanced Clinical Physiologist who both have extensive experience and knowledge in Spirometry with a combined service of 62 years. The programme will be delivered by a variety of members of the specialist LHCH Respiratory Diagnostics Team. Spirometry is a key test used to help diagnose lung disease. On average, the busy Respiratory Diagnostics Department at Liverpool’s specialist heart and chest hospital carries out a total of 15,000 spirometry tests a year over a range of outpatient services. This figure includes widespread spirometry testing at 15 community venues across Knowsley and Liverpool prior to Covid 19 restrictions. The Programme is designed for any healthcare professional who feels they can benefit from completion as a standalone course or in preparation for ARTP Spirometry Register.
