Moisture-Associated Skin Damage National Awareness Day

It’s just over a week away until this year’s national Moisture-Associated Skin Damage (MASD) Awareness Day which takes place on Thursday 19th March.  The MASD national awareness day, now in its fifth year, was created by the LHCH Tissue Viability Nursing team in partnership with Medline.   The awareness day aims to bring a specific focus to MASD providing knowledge and education to help prevent MASD and keep our patients safe.

Julie Tyrer, Tissue Viability Nurse Consultant at LHCH said:

“We’d love more and more colleagues from across the country to join us in marking this year’s MASD Awareness Day.  Since we first launched this national awareness day in 2022 more than 200 healthcare organisations have marked MASD awareness day locally.  Feedback from previous years has indicated that launching this has impacted healthcare colleagues positively, from across the country, by improving their knowledge and practices.

“We would be thrilled to continue to help others make a difference for their patients and instilling a real focus on preventing MASD.”
