New Chair appointed at LHCH
Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Flory CBE, as our new Chair, for a two-year term.
David will take up his role from 1st April 2025 alongside his existing role as Group Chair of NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group (UHLG).
This appointment follows the announcement in October 2024 that LHCH would integrate into the new city-wide hospital group from 2025/26.
David has extensive board level experience as Chair, Chief Executive and Executive Director of NHS organisations in England and healthcare organisations internationally, including six years working as Deputy NHS Chief Executive and Director General in the Department of Health for England.
Elaine Holme, Lead Governor at LHCH, said: "On behalf of the LHCH Council of Governors, we are delighted to have appointed David Flory as the Trust's new Chair.
“David had very positive engagement with governors during the recruitment process and his understanding of our services, and the opportunities and challenges ahead, was evident throughout. We know David has a strong track record of leadership across the health sector and his extensive knowledge of the local health economy will be of huge benefit to the Trust, as will his experience from his role as Chair at UHLG.”
Val Davies, Chair at LHCH, said: “To have someone with David’s extensive skills, knowledge and NHS experience, as well as his understanding of healthcare within the region, will be a huge asset for LHCH as we move into a group model this year.
“Colleagues across the Trust will look forward to welcoming David and working together to further develop world class care and outcomes, collaborating with our partners and improving the health of our populations.”
David will take up his Joint Chair role from 1st April 2025 following the end of Val Davies’ term of office as LHCH’s current Chair on 30th March 2025.
