International cardiorespiratory network makes an impact
In the summer of 2023, specialists at LHCH launched a new monthly cardio-respiratory meeting consisting of a cardiologist, chest physicians, clinical academics, specialist cardio-respiratory physiotherapists, pharmacists, and physiologists. This Specialist MDT now has an international reach, aiming to rationalise the multi-disciplinary cardio-respiratory management, with a particular focus on chronic respiratory disease, and often has attendees joining from India and Poland, for subsequent academic and research discussions.
This forum considers different approaches to manage and investigate chronic disease, with a particular focus on diseases associated with the ageing population in conditions such as cystic fibrosis. Bringing together the group of specialists in this way ensures that patients receive the very best investigation and treatment for their condition.
