LHCH ranked joint top
NHS England and E-Health Insider this week launched a new Clinical Digital Maturity Index (CDMI) - a benchmarking tool that enables trusts to better understand how investing in, then effectively using information technology, can improve patient safety and deliver efficiencies.
We are delighted that Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital has been ranked by the CDMI as one of the joint top three trusts in the country – an outstanding achievement.
The CDMI helps trusts see where they are in terms of digital capability and allows them to monitor progress over time. The index also helps trusts rate their own technical capabilities, such as e-prescribing and e-referral, and identify where progress can be made. It assesses each trust’s installed base of 27 clinical and administrative systems, with LHCH being one of only three trusts to have all these systems in place.
Dr Johan Waktare, our Clinical Lead for EPR, said: “Before EPR Go Live on June 26th, our trust would have been below average in terms of the systems that we had in place. Therefore I’m extremely proud of the EPR team, the fantastic job that they have done and all that they have delivered for the trust in recent months.”
Jane Tomkinson, Chief Executive, added: “Congratulations to Johan and the Team on achieving such a tremendous accolade. Well done.”
