LHCH Heart Specialist Treats Myanmar Politician

A cardiac surgeon from Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital recently carried out a successful heart operation on one of Myanmar’s leading politicians.
Professor Aung Oo, Consultant Aortic Surgeon at LHCH, led a team of 17 specialists in performing the 6 ½ hour operation on Phyo Min Thein (pictured below), Chief Minister of Yangon – the leading city in Myanmar.
Professor Oo, who graduated from the Yangon University of Medicine in 1988, has made annual visits to Myanmar since 2013 to help treat patients at the Yankin Children’s Hospital in Yangon, performing more than 90 cardiac procedures.
