Prestigious recognition for Professor Lip

Professor Greg Lip, Consultant Cardiologist,  Recognised With American College of Cardiology Top Honour

Professor Greg Lip, LHCH Consultant Cardiologist, Director of the Liverpool Centre for Cardiovascular Science and Price-Evans Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine, at the University of Liverpool, has been awarded the 2023 Distinguished Scientist Award-Clinical Domain by the American College of Cardiology in honour of  his contribution to the cardiovascular profession. 

Professor Lip has been recognised for these achievements along with all 2023 Distinguished Award winners during Convocation at the American College of Cardiology’s Annual Scientific Session Together with World Congress of Cardiology (ACC.23/WCC) which took place from March 4-6, 2023, in New Orleans.

“It is an honour to recognise Greg with the Distinguished Scientist Award-Clinical Domain,” said ACC President Edward Fry.

“Prof Lip has made exceptional contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine, helping to further the ACC’s mission to transform cardiovascular care and improve heart health.”

 The Distinguished Scientist Award-Clinical Domain is awarded to a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology who has made major scientific contributions to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the field of cardiovascular disease. The award is given to three recipients; one in each the basic, clinical and translational domains.

Twenty Distinguished Awards were presented at ACC.23/WCC, each recognising an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine. Recipients are nominated by their peers and then selected by the American College of Cardiology Awards Committee.
