NHS Staff Survey Results 2022: LHCH TOP in the country
LHCH is the TOP trust in the country according to the results of this year’s national NHS Staff Survey 2022.
The survey results of more than 600,000 people working in 264 NHS organisations, including all 215 trusts in England, were published last week, and showed that LHCH is TOP in the country, when benchmarked against all trusts, for two key areas:
- A place to work
- Staff engagement
The findings also showed that LHCH is in the top three NHS organisations in the country for a further two areas:
- Care is our top priority (second)
- A place for treatment (third)
Furthermore, this year’s findings highlighted LHCH as the BEST performing Acute Specialist Trust in eight out of nine areas.
The NHS Staff Survey was carried out between September and December 2022 and completed by 1267 staff (69%) at LHCH, which compares with a national response rate of 46%.
Once again, this year’s survey aligned with the seven elements of the NHS People Promise (We are compassionate and inclusive; We are recognised and rewarded; We each have a voice that counts; We are safe and healthy; We are always learning; We work flexibly; We are a team), and also looked at two additional themes (Staff engagement and Morale) and a number of other questions.
Karen Nightingall, Chief People Officer at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, said: “We are really encouraged with the results of this year’s national survey, which show that staff have recognised Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital not just as an outstanding place to work, but also as an outstanding place to receive care and treatment. Knowing that our staff have recognised LHCH so highly is very pleasing for us all.
“The feedback that we receive from our staff each year is always gratefully received because their voice is important to us. However, where there are areas that we can make further improvements to our services and provisions for staff, we will look to work with our teams to undertake action in the next 12 months.”
