Patient Story
A 29-year-old man from Cheshire sadly died suddenly from heart problems. After this, his family found out they have a genetic condition called Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH). This condition causes very high cholesterol levels.
The family got their diagnosis after being referred to the Cheshire and Merseyside FH Service, where they had genetic tests.
In this video, the man’s brother, Simon, talks about finding out he has FH, what high cholesterol means, and how his close family got tested too.
