Aims of the Programme
The Cheshire and Merseyside Respiratory Improvement Programme will aim to:
- Improve respiratory health by promoting increased activity and smoking cessation
- NHS supported stop smoking support to enhance council and pharmacy run service
- Improve referral rates into Pulmonary rehabilitation programme
- Focus on improving the uptake of Flu Vaccination in targeted groups
- Provide the first collaborative workforce initiative across C&M STP for respiratory care
- Bring a new group of healthcare professionals into the workforce
- Reduce duplication of effort
- Support Physician Associates introduction through a Preceptorship Programme
- Start to develop standardised care across Cheshire and Merseyside to reduce variation
- Reduce avoidable non-elective respiratory admissions
- Improve long term respiratory care
- Improve cost effective, evidenced based respiratory prescribing
- Bolster community respiratory team support
