  • Appointed to Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital in 1993
  • Honorary Professor, University of Liverpool in 2015.  Director of the Regional Adult Cystic Fibrosis Unit which cares for over 340 adults from North Wales, Cheshire, Merseyside and the Isle of Man
  • Lead Clinician for the Liverpool Lung Cancer Unit, which exceeds all national standards, providing ‘state of the art’ diagnosis and treatment for over 400 patients per year (the largest in the region)
  • Chair of the Oversight Board for National Peer Review of CF Clinics
  • Local Host for the MRCP postgraduate medical examinations for the Royal College of Physicians
  • Board Secretary and Question Writer for the Postgraduate Exit Examination for Respiratory Medicine

Published widely on research into lung cancer and cystic fibrosis – including over 120 papers and 400 presentations at national and international meetings
