About Dhiraj

I have been a very high-volume operator in interventional electrophysiology (EP) for over a decade, and have earned particular repute for my interventional management skills for Atrial Fibrillation (AF), the most common heart rhythm disorder. My success rates and safety record over the past decade have resulted in a large supra-regional referral practice.

I am the largest volume implanter for left atrial appendage occluder (LAAO) devices in the UK, and I proctor cardiologists extensively in UK, USA and Europe in this technique.

I have been awarded NHS local Clinical Excellence Awards in 2010, 2014 and 2015, and the national Bronze Clinical Excellence Award in 2017.

I have been successful in obtaining over £4million in competitive research grants, both from public grant bodies such as NIHR/ BHF as well as from industry, and am the Chief Investigator for several multicentre ablation clinical trials. I have supervised and examined PhD candidates for Imperial College London, University of Liverpool, Queen Mary University London, City University London, and University of Birmingham.   I have authored over 100 scientific publications and paper presentations, and my research has contributed to changes to recent international scientific guidelines and consensus statements.
