18-weeks Referral to Treatment Waiting Times
Ensuring patients have the shortest waiting time possible for treatment is a key priority for the Trust and part of the NHS Constitution. The Trust continues to perform well against national measures on 18-week referral to treatment times. These measures include the following:
- 90% or more of patients will receive treatment within 18-weeks of referral from their GP (for treatment received during a hospital admission)
- 95% or more of patients will receive treatment within 18-weeks of referral from their GP (for treatment received during a hospital outpatient attendance)
- 92% or more of patients currently waiting for treatment in either a hospital admission or outpatient attendance will not be waiting longer than 18-weeks from referral from their GP.
Performance between April and June 2013 against these measures was above the national standard as shown in the figure below.

Diagnostic Waiting Times
The Trust also monitors the length of time patients have to wait for diagnostic tests and ensures that patients receive their diagnostic tests within 6-weeks of referral. Performance against this measure between April and June 2013 shows that all patients received their diagnostic tests within 6-weeks (see figure below).
