Why Become a Member?

LHCH has over 9,500 public members who all make a difference as we work to achieve our vision to be ‘the best’.  As a Foundation Trust we are accountable to our patients, members and the communities we serve. Our Council of Governors represent the views of our members and the public, whilst holding our Board of Directors to account. 

Why become a member?

  • Keep informed on LHCH latest news and developments and receive regular copies of Members Matters newsletter.
  • You can become involved as little or as much as you like. When registering you can let us know your interests so we can invite you to the events or opportunities most relevant to your preferences.

  • Have your say on what most matters to you by participating in members surveys and focus groups.

  • You will be invited to attend and vote (if applicable) at our Annual Members Meetings.

  • You will be invited to attend our programme of membership events – including our health awareness events and the annual members health event.

  • You will be able to vote in elections for Council of Governors or stand for election as a Governor.

  • There are opportunities available for you to engage with our Council of Governors enabling them to represent your views.

What obligations are there for Members?

  • Members are not obligated to commitments of any kind
  • Members choose their own level of involvement
  • Members can withdraw at any time
  • Can anyone become a Member?

  • Members must be over 16 years of age, although there is no upper age limit.  
  • Members must come from one of the following catchment areas: Cheshire, North Wales, Merseyside and the Rest of England & Wales
  • No particular skills, qualifications or experience are required just an interest in what we do now and in the future
