Domestics and a Clean Hospital
The Trust’s aim is to ensure we provide a clean, safe Hospital to our patients, families, staff and visitors. The Domestic services play a vital role in preventing infection and ensuring the hospital is clean. The Domestic staff are a highly trained, dedicated and motivated “in house” team committed to ensuring we achieve and exceed the national cleaning standards. We know how important a clean Hospital is to our patient, their families and Trust staff. We pride ourselves on delivering high standards in a professional, efficient, friendly patient and family focused environment.
There are rigorous monitoring processes in place to audit cleanliness across the Trust and the results are presented to the Infection prevention committee. For the 5th year running the national patient’s survey results have declared our Hospital as the cleanest in the country. This year we have also received a rating of “Excellent” in environment as a result of the Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) Assessment for 2011. These achievements are as a direct result of our teams drive, determination and enthusiasm to ensure the Hospital environment is clean and safe for every patient and their families, every day.
The Domestic services works closely with the Infection Prevention and Control Team, Matrons and ward staff to monitor cleanliness and help prevent the spread of infection within the Trust.
