Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital became a NHS Foundation Trust in December 2009. This means we have more choice and flexibility to make decisions about the current and future services we provide to meet the needs of our patients.

We are delighted that our hospital has once again been recognised as a top performer in the 2012 Care Quality Commission National Inpatient Survey for 'overall patient care'. It directly illustrates our mission and vision of patient care, as it is our patients scoring this survey.
This is a national survey and every credit must go to all our staff and volunteers for their hard work and dedication to maintaining such high standards.
This success was further reinforced by the results of the 2011 Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) assessment. LHCH was rated as "Excellent" for Environment, "Excellent" for Food and "Excellent" for Privacy and Dignity.
